Flat-sheet routing plus rotary cylindrical carving
CNC routers can cut a variety of materials, including wood, plastic, aluminium and high-density foam. CNC stands for computer numerical control — machines operated by computer software and electronics rather than by a human operator.
CNC machines cut in three directions, known as the X, Y and Z axes. The X-axis runs front to back (the longest axis); the Y-axis represents left and right; the Z-axis represents up and down. Because they run on computers, CNC routers are faster and more exact than manual work — valuable in manufacturing and woodworking production.
The STX-1325 adds a rotary attachment (4th axis) for cylindrical carving — table legs, balusters, columns, newel posts and round furniture parts rotate while the spindle profiles the surface. Combined with a full 1300 × 2500 mm flat bed, servo drive and 6 kW spindle, it handles both sheet work and round-stock jobs on one machine.
